Noble six and any surviving Spartans and unsc forces could’ve commandeer a phantom and banshees, could’ve held an elite at gunpoint to communicate with covenant forces to avoid arousing suspicion probably could’ve made the elite into an ally creating a similar arbiter/chief friendship

Regarding the Master Chief's "luck" whilst it is a stupid line at face value, in that the writing team couldn't think of anything else that distinguished him from other Spartans, it is actually from the first bit of Halo media--Halo The Fall of Reach by Eric Nylund, and it's a subtle reference to Ringworld by Larry Niven, whose entire first book had a major subplot, character selection, and arguments circling around the nature of luck, which was abandoned in the sequels.

At the time, I did not play video games, and was mildly horrified at people around me who were playing them--particularly Dead Space, which was released a year later. All I knew was that nobody in the streets ever queued up for anything overnight, except Harry Potter books, and this. All I knew about Halo was from four people playing Halo CE multiplayer at a church group gathering, and what was in the newspapers.

I really loved this. The tension you built was immaculate. One peice of criticism I can provide is I believe ONI is commonly pronounced like the mythical creature (oh-knee) in the Halo universe. It wasn't a huge issue, I'm sure people say it that way in universe, but it stuck out to me. Keep up the great work, this was a lot of fun to listen to.

idk why doomguy vs john 117 is a debate. DOOMGUY WAS BLESSED WITH IMMORTALITY, chief does NOT + doomguy's strength, speed, and willpower are infinite.

Great vid, i've always been interested in Halo lore, despite not playing the games.

I'm curious how different things would be if Rather then doom guy Chief had been thawed out and the demon things had been uncovered by covenant after the rings had been not all destroyed but all disabled. Humans trying to find a source of renewable energy opened the portal to hell and when demons came through a new AI (not the orignal Cortana) Wakes chief as the humans are all dying or dead. And he starts ripping and tearing his way through these demons rather then the orignal doom guy. He is already enhanced and if i remember correctly the orignal doom guy was not enhanced So stronger starting point with mostly better weapons minus the BFG. I want peopl who know a ton about both games and extended lore who can flush this idea out.

it occurs to me that with Isaac here, he could likely reverse engineer the Stasis Module and Kinesis Module for the rest of the UNSC to use. imagine just being able to "pause" charging hunters and brutes, or even pull a vehicle from an otherwise stuck position without the need of a spartan to flip them over.
